THE ART OF SEEING | Astrophotography Workshops | What To Bring
REQUIRED: Camera (DSLR / Mirrorless), camera lens, battery, memory card, tripod, lens cleaning kit, torch, insect repellant, warm clothing and curiosity
OPTIONAL: Intervalometer / remote shutter release, spare battery, camping chair, medication, water, thermos, hand warmers, snacks, and that weird beanie you really love
These are all the things
LENSES
For this workshop ONE LENS is plenty. Please bring a widest lens you have such as:
14mm = ultra-wide
24mm = wide
35mm = classic
Kit lenses like the Canon or Nikon 18–55mm f/3.5–5.6 will work well for beginners.
You do NOT need $3000 f/1.4 ultra-wide astrophotography wizard glass to learn astrophotography.
As I say, my practice is built on what you already know, with what you already have, but if you have any questions about lenses (or anything else) use the Contact Form below.
Intervalometer / remote shutter release
If you don't have one of these or don't know what it even is, that's ok.
Most cameras have a 2 second or 10 second delay - or also have an internal intervalometer.
So why this is even something we need, is that when taking long exposures, when you press the button... "camera shake."
